About

ES4PS — Independent power systems engineering firm. Inside perspective from years at top-tier global manufacturers, applied with no manufacturer ties and no sales quota.

Inside perspective. Outside independence.

Why ES4PS exists

The power systems market has three kinds of players, and a gap between them.

Original equipment manufacturers (Cat, Cummins, MTU, Aksa, Teksan and others) sell equipment. Their engineering exists to support that sale. Even when their advice is technically sound, it is never independent — there is always a model number at the end of the recommendation.

Mega-EPC firms (Black & Veatch, Burns & McDonnell, AECOM) lead utility-scale and hyperscale projects but become slow and expensive on the 1–50 MW range that most customers actually need.

Single-discipline firms do only acoustics, only mechanical, only electrical, only enclosures. They are good at their slice but miss the system interfaces that cause field failures.

ES4PS fills the gap: independent, system-first, early-engagement engineering for the 0.5 – 500 MW range that the other three kinds of player do not serve well.

Our team

ES4PS was founded by a team with many years of engineering experience at top-tier global power systems manufacturers. That background is our biggest advantage — and our biggest discipline.

  • Inside perspective. We know which standard was chosen and why, which calculation was skipped and why, which assumption went unchallenged and why — because we made those decisions ourselves.
  • Outside independence. We are no longer attached to any manufacturer. We hold no sales quota, we have no product to push.
  • System responsibility. Inside an OE you are responsible for “your part.” At ES4PS we take responsibility for the whole system.

“The customer’s goal is to install the right system. The OE’s goal is to sell its product. The EPC’s goal is to deliver the project. ES4PS’s goal is the same as the customer’s — the right system.”

Three principles

Independent. We are not tied to any OE, any dealer, any single supplier. The recommendation is what is right for the customer, no matter who benefits commercially. And we show our reasoning with standards-based calculations.

System-first. A power system is twenty-plus pieces of equipment working together. Solving one piece in isolation does not mean the whole system is right. Enclosure, acoustics, HVAC, fuel, controls, P&ID — these must be designed together. We define the interfaces from day zero.

Day-zero engineering. We engage before the layout freezes, before equipment is selected. Most engineering firms say “we’ll optimise after the design is done.” We say “let’s get the design right from the start, instead of patching it later.”

Manufacturing — design ours, build through a certified partner network

We do not run a factory. We define all the manufacturing standards and details ourselves; on request, we can also build your equipment through a certified partner network:

  • ISO 9001 quality management
  • EN 1090-2 (steel structure execution + CE marking)
  • ASME welding codes (B31.1, B31.3, IX)
  • AWS D1.1 welding qualifications
  • KIWA manufacturer certification (fuel tanks, NL/EU)
  • API Q1 (oil & gas manufacturing, where required)
  • ATEX / IECEx equipment manufacturer scope (where required)

Our engineer is on the partner’s shop floor during build — FAT supervision, weld inspection, document sign-off. We run the quality control during manufacturing, we document it, and we guarantee that no non-conforming equipment reaches site. The design is ours, the manufacturing is the partner’s, the quality sign-off is ours.

This model removes vertical-OE dependency, lowers fixed overhead, and keeps the quality call in our hands.

Target customers

  • Engineering and design firms delivering turnkey facilities that need specialist support on specific equipment
  • OEMs seeking independent peer review or second opinions
  • Hyperscale data centre and critical-facility operators
  • Oil & gas owners, EPCs and manufacturers seeking custom-design support
  • MEP and design houses that need a power-systems specialist
  • EPC main contractors needing a subcontract package on utility-scale projects
